Being a human comes with its perks. Like opposable thumbs. It also comes with many - and I mean like A TON - of downfalls. For me, other people can be that downfall.
It doesn't seem like a normal thing nowadays to have common sense in the majority of humans. Which, for me, really pisses me off. Sometimes I feel like people intentionally do the most stupid things just so they can make it on the news next. Why does stupidity run so thick in human nature?
Well, I honestly think it comes down to selfishness. Most people that do idiotic things are begging and pleading for the attention of their peers or the people they look up to. Rebelling isn't really a fad anymore; it has become a desire or even worse, an obsession.
Now, if you're anything like me (not patient AT ALL), these type of humans might just drive you insane. How do we deal with them? Do we let them talk until they are drained of all their inappropriate and uneducated comments? Or do we grab a chair and slam it over their head? That's a tough question to answer, but I'll try my best.
The easiest way to break through a wall of stupidity is to first hear what the person has to say. For the most part, they really just want to be heard and shown that somebody, somewhere cares about what they have to say. Even if you disagree or you're bored to tears, be a person who listens wholeheartedly and genuinely.
Next, be willing to be bold and give some advice. The fastest solution to stupid people is to educate them. They don't know about politics? Give them a little run down on how the government works and how they can play a part in that. Don't they know how to cook? Open up your Pinterest app and help them, step-by-step, to make some dang good cookies.
Dumb questions and people with no common sense really grind my gears, but if I stay pissed off, I'm really only escalating the problem. I don't know if this makes any sense to the people reading it, but I just hate feeling like the people around me aren't living up to their potential.
I feel like my generation gets the short end of the stick, but who's the one educating the youth of today? If you want us to be more involved with the world and be more responsible, maybe somebody should step up and teach us how to do it.
Also, if you're a "millennial," why don't you start stepping up your game too? Ask for help, work hard even if you don't get paid, offer to serve others out of selflessness and not out of your own desires. If you want to complain that "life isn't fair" or you never get your way, then start making your way happen by working hard and being a decent human.
