Dear Sister,
Being the little sister is my jam. But being your little sister is a dream. You make the impossible, possible and you give me opportunities of a lifetime. What would life be without someone who would cram me in the bitty baby crib and teaching me how to braid a horse's tail? Lets not forget all those times you told me not to touch your things because if I did, it would blow up. Life would be a lonely one without you because I wouldn’t have my best friend by my side.
We may be seven years apart but nothing is stopping us from being a dynamic duo. You’re one in a million I tell ya, I couldn’t ask for a better sister. Growing up, you have taught me right from wrong, my left and rights, and what to buy when we go shopping (which is everything). You never fail to brighten my day when it’s dark, and you always know the right things to say pick me up when I’m feeling down. You are my rock. Thank you for giving me a shoulder to lean on, and being the best big sister that a girl could ask for.
Maybe it’s a sister thing, or maybe it’s our thing, but you understand me like no other person on this planet. It’s amazing how inspiring you are. You push me to reach my goals and teach me to be nothing but to be an independent, successful women. And I thank you for that. All the good times and the bad times, we are always going to stick together.
I can't wait until the day I stand next to you on your wedding day as your maid of honor. You will the most beautiful bride and I will probably win most emotional maid of honor of the year because I will be such a proud little sister. The man you are about to marry is the luckiest man on this earth to have such a bright, strong, thoughtful women as his bride. And I promise you both, I will be the best auntie ever!
Thank you for showing me the ropes of life, sister. I couldn’t imagine it any other way. You have taught me how to be the person I am today, and I cannot wait to continue to make you proud.
xoxo Ding
P.S. Growing up, I’ve always wanted to be just like you. Look at me now. Nineteen, being responsible, wearing mac lipstick, studying hard, having fun, and always wearing something pink. Just like you. By the way, I wrote this whole thing as you sat right next to me.
