Now that fall semester is in full swing, you are sure to be slammed with work. Finding a good place to study can be hard. Getting yourself away from all your distractions in order to focus and get your work done is not always easy, but Kent State is full of great places on campus to study that will get you away from any distractions.
The library.
The library is an obvious choice to get your work and studying done. Finding the right place in the library that works for you is also really important. The fourth floor is a more social environment if you want to hang out with friends and do work casually. However, floors further up like the sixth floor are great quiet places to focus and get your work done.
Outside.
Take advantage of the nice weather and head outside to study. Great places are the grassy areas outside of Eastway, Manchester Field or some of the many tables located outside the library or around other halls on campus.
A coffee shop.
There are so many coffee places around Kent at which you could hang out and study. There's Tree City, Scribbles, Jazzman's on campus and three Starbucks locations to choose from. You can find Starbucks on Main Street next to the bookstore, in the library and also next to the CUE (hint: that one takes meal plan).
Lounges.
Most resident halls have lounges inside them perfect for studying. Some halls have lounges on each floor, like in Eastway, while others have bigger lounges to study in. Eastway has a lounge across from the market on the first floor perfect for getting work done and hanging out, while Tri-Towers has lounges around the rotunda. Tri is also is home to the Sky Lounge.
The student center.
The student center is a great place to study! There are several places to study at. There's the Nest, which has super comfortable places to sit, a computer lab and lounge areas around windows to sit with a view. The best part is you can go downstairs and grab some food at The Hub .
Academic building.
Most buildings have lounges, reading rooms or sitting areas that are perfect places for studying! The buildings are already pretty quiet and a great place for doing work between classes or a get away from distractions.
