I have never truly recognized how much I miss home until I went away to school. I never appreciated the little things and how safe and easy everything at home felt. I missed my moms homemade cooking and how easy it was to see my friends that I have seen almost every day of my life since I was very young.
I missed cuddling on my couch that I had complained about my whole life as not being comfortable, but now I see it as the most comfortable couch in the whole world. My broken TV I even missed. I missed the smells of my house and everything that resembled home.
I am so grateful to come back to a place that I love so much. I always complained about the small town I grew up in as I never felt there was anything to do. Now I look at it as my favorite little place in the world. I will always hold this place close to my heart as it helped raise me and allow me to become the person I am today.
My favorite part about being home is spending time with my family and friends. I had missed them so much at school and spending time with my siblings have always been so important to me. I am the youngest of three and my sister has now moved to NYC, and my brother will be leaving for Spain in 3 weeks for the semester, so anytime we have together is very special.
I have such amazing friends at home that I have created such amazing memories with over the years. I have 12 best friends and hope to grow old with them. I am extremely grateful for them all.
Another amazing part about coming home is going to my favorite breakfast place in the world. It is called The Farmer's Daughter and is an all-natural restaurant that has the most amazing caramel macchiatos and avocado toast. I go there as often as I can, although the lines are always so long. I have been there twice already and only got home a couple days ago.
The holidays bring all the people you love together and there is nothing better than that. Enjoy time with your family and friends and have an extra sugar cookie if you want!!
