Dear Mom,
You have been my best friend, my hero, my doctor, and shrink. When I look back, I realize wouldn’t be where I am if it weren’t for you. You have shaped me into the person I am today. Through all of my tantrums, problems, and loads of drama, you have always stuck by my side. Through all of this, there were many times I forgot to thank you, and let's face it, You deserve all the thanks in the world.
Thank you for…
1. Dealing with my 100+ phone calls a week.
I know I didn’t go very far for college and I see you all the time, it is still not the same. I wish we could sit on the couch and shit talk for hours while watching every possible reality show. I look forward to our phone calls so we can fill each other in with all of the dramas, whether it comes from TV shows or real life.
2. Being personal chauffer for 18 years.
I can’t even count how many times you had to drive me to school because I missed the bus or overslept. Or when you would pick me up from the shore because I needed a break and just wanted to be home or even now, how many times you pick me up from school just so I can go home for the night.
3. Being the “cool mom.”
I can only hope that my children’s friends will feel as comfortable with me as my friends are with you. My friends would rather hang out with you and honestly, I don’t blame them. You are the funniest, nicest, and most caring person I have every met.
4. Brutal honesty.
You always tell it like it is. Even if I don’t want to hear it. Your advice means everything to me, mom. It really does. Boys, friends, school, it doesn't matter, you always know the right thing to say. Even if the truth does hurt.
5. Being you.
I, honestly, am so lucky to have the relationship that I have with my mom. She is quite possibly the bravest and most hard working woman I have ever met and I am lucky enough to call her Mom.
6. Being my best friend.
You empower me to be the best person I can be. You are my go-to, my confidant, my person, my best friend. Thanks for being my inspiration, role model, and someone who truly aspire to be.
Love always,
Your daughter
