Fall Foods: The Season That Makes Your Mouth Water

Fall is the best season of the year. If you do not agree, you need to re-evaluate your life. While fall is slowly approaching, it is not full blown yet. I, like everyone else, have already been indulging in the pumpkin spiced lattes at Panera and Starbucks, even though they seem to be a little premature this season.

'Tis the season for bonfires, sweater weather, cuddling with your non-existent boyfriend, while holding a nice hot cup of your favorite fall beverage. Calories also don’t count during the fall, crazy concept I know, but with all of the pumpkin-flavored, you have to eat it all while you can.

The key to happiness this fall, like every fall, is pumpkin. Everything pumpkin. Go to the grocery store and load up on canned pumpkin, cinnamon and nutmeg because they will be your three ingredients to pure bliss this season.

1. Pumpkin Bread.

This is probably the greatest creation of mankind. In an hour you can have a versatile food that will bring you pure joy. Throw it in the toaster for breakfast, heat it up for lunch or snack. Feeling crazy? Whip up a batch of cream cheese frosting and spread it all over or inside.

2. Pumpkin Spice Lattes.

This is where we really need to ignore the calories. Just think, it is only around for a few months, so we have to make the most of it. The most exciting day of fall is when Starbucks breaks out the Pumpkin Spice Latte, and other specialty fall drinks. What is even better? This year they are made with REAL pumpkin. Yes I said it, prepare your taste buds for a little sip of heaven.

3. Pumpkin muffins.

The perfect breakfast food for the fall. Whether you are on the go or have a little extra time in the morning before class, heat one of these bad boys up and dab a little butter on them. Taste buds rejoice.

4. Pumpkin pie.

If you are one of those crazy pie people, this is for you.

For those of you who don't like pumpkin, first off I have no idea why, but I’ll try to overlook that so we can still be friends. Here are some fall foods for you:

5. Chili.

There is nothing like a hot cup of chili. Adding a dollop of sour cream and sprinkling on some cheese, your mouth just waters at the sight of it. You can enjoy this at dinner or before the big game, cheering on your favorite team.

6. Sweet potato casserole.

Whether it is like your grandmother's or not, sweet potato casserole can never go wrong. Whip one up with pecan crust topping or marshmallow, whatever floats your boat. Use it as a side to give your dinner some fall pizzaz, or go crazy and make it your meal. Fall calories don't count anyway.

7. Apple Cider.

The best beverage alternative to pumpkin spice lattes. While sipping on it, it takes you away. You quickly imagine you are at an orchard, picking apples with your boyfriend and taking cute romantic pictures. Until you realize you are still deathly single and those are pictures you saw of all your friends and their boyfriends. Anyway, apple cider is always a good time to dream.

8. Carmel apples.

Whether you buy the dipped carmel apples, or you cut them up yourself at home and breakout carmel sauces. Carmel apples are a special fall treat. This season apples are in their prime, so load up. You can pretend you are healthy while eating the apple, but still satisfying your inner sweet tooth with the carmel sauce. It is really a win-win situation.

The list could go on forever, fall enthusiasts know this all too well.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
