Hooray, the fair is in town! There are rides, games, petting zoos, and more that await you beyond the gates, and it's a great time for you and your S/O and/or friends to bond and have the time of your lives.

But one thing is missing that makes the fair so great...and if you guessed "the food", you are absolutely right! What would the state fair be without glorious, unique, and downright ridiculous food?! Read on to see some fair foods you've tried before or need to try at least once*.

1. Fried Oreos.

One of my all-time favorite fair treats, deep-fried Oreos are the perfect mix of sweet and savory. It can be really easy to eat a bunch of these at once, which begs the question: why is it that the foods that are bad for you taste so good?!

2. Funnel Cakes.

I lied; THESE are my all-time favorite fair foods to eat. Honestly, HOW can you resist them?! Depending on where you go, they come in hundreds of different flavors and topping combinations.

3. Fried Pickles.

If you didn't know, now you know. Pickles can definitely be fried (but then again, they fry literally anything now), and you should definitely try them once if nothing else at the fair. It's got an interesting but oh-so-savory taste.

4. Corn Dogs.

Oh, come on, who hasn't tried corn dogs before?! You've probably had them during lunch at school, or maybe even at any other event that sells food. But eating a corn dog from the fair is a unique experience. Imagine eating one of these with the hustle and bustle of the rides in the background....

5. Turkey Legs.

So, I'm not a big fan of turkey. But that shouldn't stop you from trying one of these bad boys out! Plus, much like corn dogs, eating this seemingly-common food at the fair is a unique experience in itself.

6. Pineapple Bowls.

I could eat a million of these things if I wanted to. They are seriously SO good. Who'd have thought that sweet pineapple and savory meats and rice would go so well together? I didn't, but now that I've seen the light after trying this last year, my life is so much better because of it.

*WARNING: Fried foods are super high in fat and calories, so be careful and try not to eat too much!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
