The Best Commercials Of Super Bowl XLIX

The teams are ready, the fans are in their gear, beer and food are flowing, and the Super Bowl begins: The most anticipated professional football game of the season, and with it, the great commercials that are kept under lock and key. From Coca Cola's controversial "America the Beautiful" to Doritos' always funny "Sling Baby," the Super Bowl commercials always go above and beyond for one of the biggest televised events of the year. So without further ado, I present my list of the best Super Bowl commercials of 2015.

Mountain Dew Kickstart "Come Alive"

Go hard or go home. Featuring three guys bro-ing it out, Mountain Dew's "Come Alive" shows the transformation from laid back hangout out to party animals. When the deer breaks through the wall you know its about to get real.

Jeep Renegade "Beautiful Lands"

A beautiful commercial showing the diversity of the geography of the world, cultures, and peoples, Jeep really drives home with the unity of land and people in this one.

Bud Light "You Are Pac-Man"

Take a minute and admit that you would totally love to do a human Pac-Man at a party. Just admit it.

Dodge "Wisdom"

Featuring sassy old people, great advice, and a nice car, Dodge's "Wisdom" shows that some things get better with age.

Always "Like A Girl"

This is one of my all time favorite commercials. With all that is happening in our country regarding feminism, this commercial really adds some perspective into some subconscious sexist practices and generalizations that exist in our society today.

Pitch Perfect 2 Trailer

I know, I know. This isn't a commercial but come on. We are all totally excited for this movie release and secretly praying it is equal to or even better than the first one.

FIAT 500X "The FIAT Blue Pill"

This commercial was one of the funniest ones this year. An older couple is about to get it on, and the man tosses his Viagra out the window, venturing on a long journey across the little village to the FIAT, which then expands and evolves. "Bigger, more powerful and ready for action."

Reebok "Be More Human"

This is honestly one of the first Reebok commercials I can remember seeing in a long time. Featuring athletes of various varieties, this commercial shows human passion and drive in a beautiful and powerful way.

Snickers "The Brady Bunch"

A throwback to the classic TV show, Snickers brings it's great "you're not you when you're hungry" campaign to the iconic 70's show. If the Brady Bunch needs a Snickers now and then, we all definitely do.

Doritos "Middle Seat"

We have all been there. It seems on every form of public transportation there is that one person you absolutely do not want to sit by. The main guy in this commercial seems to exhibit every annoying tendency possible for someone you would never want to sit next to on a plane in the desperate attempt to maintain an empty middle seat, until an even better turn of events occurs. A hot woman shows up... With her baby.

Coca-Cola "#MakeItHappy"

The typical heartwarming Coca-Cola commercial. With everything that has been going on in the world and in the US this year, this commercial brought some positive life and energy to the world with a focus on eradicating cyber bullying and negative media. I have always been a Coca-Cola fan, and this commercial just reminds me why I love their brand so much.

15 Times "Parks and Recreation" Summed Up Your Library Experience

"I've only slept nine hours over the past four days, so I'm right on the verge of a nervous breakdown." - Leslie Knope

Parks and Recreation excitedly gathered around a laptop at a table in an office setting.

The library. Club lib. The place every college student goes when they want to try and be a productive member of society. Who better to explain your experience than Parks and Rec?

1. When you've finally found the energy to leave your dorm room and walk into the lib like

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
