Most people think that the only time frame they can finish their college course is the typical four years that most people take. In practice, though, this time is often increased as people take time out to work, study abroad, or simply take breaks so that they can focus on other things in their lives. According to the New York Times, only one-fifth of university students actually finish their course in the standard four years, and in reality, it takes an average of six years to complete a bachelor's degree. While this is fine, and there are no issues with taking extra time to finish a degree, there are also benefits of trying to finish more quickly. In this article, we've summarized a few reasons you may want to consider taking those extra classes during the summer and trying to finish your course early.

1. Less time spent at college means less money spent.

College tuition fees have increased substantially in the last decade, with people now needing to save their whole lives to have enough money to get their children through college. Also, tuition fees in the US, in particular, have reached the point that most people need to take out a considerable loan to be able to go to college at all. Tuition fees aren't the only cost, though, and every year that you spend studying also means that you need to pay for another year of accommodation and your general cost of living. Finishing your course early means that you'll avoid any increases in tuition fees, and will also save on the additional rent and food you'd have had to pay for. 2. Get into the workforce faster.

Once you graduate college, you may be shocked to find that even with your new degree, you'll need at least a few years experience before you get in a role where you're earning enough to justify the amount you spent getting your degree in the first place. The faster you get into the workplace, the faster you'll be able to progress. If you finish your degree in four years, and can get two years' experience in a relevant job, you'll be in a much better position to get a job that's better-paying and has more responsibilities than the person that took six years to graduate.

3. Have more time for adventures.

If you can finish your college degree quickly, you then open up your possibilities for adventure. Many people like to take the end of university or college as an excellent time to have a break and travel or pursue something creative. If you finish your degree in four years or less, you'll give yourself plenty of time to do something interesting before you start work.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
