A lot of girls growing up have a favorite Disney princess and some, as the grow up, still love her. My favorite Disney princess is Belle from "Beauty and the Beast." I love her, and the movie, for many different reasons but here are just some of them.

1. She loves to read

Growing up, and now, I love to read so the fact that a Disney princess was created that loved to read immediately won my heart.

2. She doesn't care that she doesn't fit it.

In the opening song, she is walking around town and the people are sing about how she doesn't fit in because of the fact to reads and doesn't do what she is expected to do.

3. She has such a kind heart.

When the Beast scares Belle out the castle after she messes with the rose, she runs into wolves and he comes to save her. He is injured and falls unconscious. Belle could have left him there for the wolves but she takes him back to the castle and cleans his scratch.

4. She has so much patience.

Trying to teach the Beast how to read and eat correctly couldn't have been any easy job. Most people would have just given up after a try or two but she waits until he finally gets it.

5. She doesn't judge by looks.

Unlike the Beast at the beginning of the movie, Belle isn't turned away by how the Beast looks. She is a little frightened by the fact he is a beast but she still gives him a chance and doesn't run.

6. Gaston

We all know a guy like Gaston, knows he's good looking and isn't afraid to show it off. Even after multiple advances toward her, she doesn't fall into the trap. She knows she deserves better.

7. She is strong

To keep turning down a guy gets exhausting. A lot of people would eventually give into it and just let them in so they stop bothering you. Belle stands her ground with Gaston and doesn't give in. Also, to stay with the Beast while he is still working on his temper couldn't have been a walk in the park.

8. She's independent

She knows how to work with just herself. She doesn't let anyone else define her, she lets herself to that.

9. Peculiar is used to describe her.

I know what you're thinking, "What does the word peculiar have to do with this?" Well, peculiar is my favorite word and the fact it's used to describe Belle makes me love her even more.

10. She's close with her dad.

In society nowadays, you don't see teenagers close to their families the way Belle was with her dad and I feel like it's important that this princess, along with many others, shows this relationship.

11. She is a wonderful role model.

After showing all these qualities about Belle, along with all of her other ones, I think she is a great character to show little kids and even everyone else. She is a great person to follow.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
