First of all, it’s never that surprising when an illness spreads at school. There’s not a lot of sleeping, and there is a lot of people packed really closely together and that’s a really good formula for fast-spreading sicknesses.
We try as hard as we can to still be functioning people, because we know the make up work we’ll have to do afterwards is almost as bad as being sick.
But it can be hard and probably won’t go as planned.
This isn't home, where you have a mom to whip you up some soup. It can be hard to find something healthy or good to eat while you’re sick so you have to make due with what you have.
It’s inevitable, though, that eventually the sickness will take over.
And it can escalate very quickly.
Until finally you start to fear the worst.
And Health Services isn’t always super helpful.
Your roommates are either the ones who got you sick or terrified of catching what you have.
But they still go out and can make it difficult for you to rest without also suffering from FOMO.
But then when you start to get better and you can actually get out of bed, you feel like a whole new person who can accomplish anything.
