We’ve all been there, it’s Monday morning and you’ve snoozed the alarm five times already, you tell yourself two more minutes of sleep is all you need…soon enough you realize you have 30 minutes to get to class and you haven’t even left your bed. It’s a given that the rest of your day will turn out just like your rushed morning, so here are five easy things to incorporate into your morning routine that will help you become a morning person.
1. COFFEE O'CLOCK
Starting your morning with a hot cup of coffee will give you the needed caffeine to stay awake through morning traffic, that 8am lecture, and work. Whether you like your coffee in the form of shots or a venti cup it is definitely a must have for becoming a morning person. With that being said don't dare talk to me until I've had my coffee. (If you happen to be the type of person who doesn't like the taste of coffee then try an alternative like tea)
2. Kick start your morning with a workout.
I must say getting out of your bed and into the gym is quite the challenge. But if you can get yourself out of bed early enough to go out for a jog or get a quick workout before you begin your dau, it's almost a guarantee that the rest of your morning and day will be great. Some endorphins in the early morning is just what our bodies need. Not only will you feel great but you will look it too.
3. Plan ahead!
There are various reasons why majority of us aren't morning people, one of them being that we wake up late and end up rushing. We find ourselves not having enough time to have breakfast or being indecisive on what to wear that day. Learn to plan everything the night before, lay out your clothes that way you don't waste your entire morning starring at your closet. Also preparing all your meals ahead of time will take away from your morning anxiety.
4. Having a Motive
If you have something that makes you look forward to waking up every morning whether it's your job, work, coffee, people, then you have a motive to wake up for and be happy. Having a motive to your mornings will and your day ahead will allow you to view each morning as a gift rather than burden you must get through.
5. Sleep is the solution
This may be a given, but the amount of sleep you get directly affects your mood in the morning. If you are well rested getting out of bed won't be as much of a hassle, and you will feel energized as you prepare to take on the day. (Majority of us should be getting 7-9 hrs of sleep daily)
