As the weather gloriously warms up, it's time to adjust our regular beauty regimens to adapt to sunnier days, humidity and the hot and stickiness that also comes with the summer season. These beauty tricks will keep you feeling fresh as a daisy so that you can take on your day and still look fabulous.
Shadow Liner
When weather conditions are in flux, you never know when it might start drizzling outside to then leave a hot, humid blanket out where you're about. SO, swap out your normal crayon or liquid eyeliner for a soft eye shadow! Prime your eye area, then simply take an angled eye shadow brush, tap it into the shadow of your choice and gently swipe it across your lower lash line. This not only gives a beautiful, subtle, sultry look, but it's much lighter weight and won't smear as easily as your pencil or liquid liner will.
Anytime Slicked Pony
Humidity got you in a hot frizzy mess? Clean it up in seconds with an easy high ponytail. Gather your pony to about ¾ the height of your head, using a brush to comb bumpy and uneven spots. Once secured with an elastic, slightly tug the top of the ponytail and pull forward to give the effect of a small pouf, if you'd like. If you want an even more slicked look, you could straighten the tail of your pony and take some coconut oilto glue down any flyaways. Now, you have a clean, put‐together do and your hair is out of the way to better see your beautiful face.☺
Spritz Yo' Self
Especially in the hotter weather, we have to be more conscious about the amount we are sweating and our resulting bodily odors… Give people something to whiff about in the right way by smelling extra delicious by changing up how you do perfume. Instead of just squirting your favorite scent on the traditional spots of neck and wrists, spray behind your knees, elbows, and on the back of your neck. Each of these areas experiences high blood flow, which is where you want your perfume to go. Your lovely scents will diffuse much stronger, helping your perfume to last longer on the skin.
Alternate Lip Color
Similar to the eye shadow idea, when we're talking lips in the summer, you also need something easy and light that you can reapply all day without any fuss. Instead of carrying around extra makeup products just for lips, just use some bronzer! Chances are, this is already a staple in your makeup bag. Moisturize your lips with an SPF infused lip balm, then dab on your favorite bronze colored powder over your lips. A shade of brown over your pink lips creates a gorgeous and natural shade that will compliment the rest of your tan skin. PLUS, you will look so natural no one will even know you're wearing any makeup at all.
Summer Bag Must‐Haves
It's always a good idea to have a couple handy tools in your bag for any unexpected occurrences in summer. Go to Sephora and ask for samples of any kind of makeup! They're always very generous. This is a great way for you to have small, easily portable products ready to use at your leisure and help you decide what products you would like to eventually purchase. Since they are usually more expensive, I like to get samples of different face primers and liquid foundations. In the summer, your skin color is probably changing more often as you get exposed to the sun, so it's nice to always have the correct color to use as the base for your makeup.
