I cured myself by the beach. I had never been to the beach around the area until last year. I've always had strict parents that didn't allow me to go to the beach because my swimming skills were never up to par. Let me tell you this, when I first laid eyes on it, I fell in absolute love. It was like seeing the guy of my dreams in front of me but in the form of a place. I can still remember everything about it clearly. It was the first beach trip of the Summer before senior year. Ever since then, it changed my life.
The waves, the silence. It was amazing. There is nothing you can't cure at the beach. Sadness doesn't exist at this place; it's all replaced with a feeling of joy and peacefulness. It's like a happy place that's made for everyone. The days when it's sweltering and you want to go into the water but you know it's freezing are great. The days when it's a little less warmer when you can just sit there and be comfortable are by far the best. Then there's the nights where you drive down at 12 AM with a group of friends to have a good time in cold weather wrapped in warm blankets to see the sunrise. This is what makes the beach such an amazing place.
It holds out its arms open for anyone and everyone. Whether you want to go and contemplate your life up there, or whether you're looking for a good time, it has something for everyone. This is my way of putting it: "the beach cures you when nothing else can." Senior skip days were held here, and so many other memories. The first time I climbed on those wicked high rocks by the beach was probably one of the best things I've ever done. Kayaking is another biggie; just rowing yourself out and looking at all the open space around you really sets you free.
Enjoy the beach this summer and look at it from a different perspective. Love it because it's beautiful and it makes you happy. Summer 16', let's go!
