When you open Facebook or when you turn on the news, you usually read or hear about a terrible tragedy that has happened. I don’t know about you but I’m tired of seeing and hearing of terrible news. I like those heartfelt stories that make you tear up and it restores your faith in humanity.
People tend to post about what someone did that made them so upset, but it’s never about someone who took two seconds out of their day to hold the door open for them or if they saw someone help an elderly patron across the street.
We all have one life to live and why can’t it be a good one? Why not live every moment as happy as you be? Why not skip work and take a day to yourself? Why are we all so negative?
I know that it’s easier to be angry then happy, but people don’t like to be around negativity.
Recently, I have started a journey that I would give back to others more then I have been and help others in need because of what the others have done for me in the past.
About a month or so ago, I paid for a marine and his family to have lunch because he works hard to serve our country and to finally get to come home and spend time with his family. I paid for his meal not because I wanted “good karma” but because of the look on the marine’s face when I told him his bill was talking care of, it brings tears to your eyes. It’s moments like that, that restore your faith in humanity. I do it because my action could impact others and my hope is they will pay it forward.
A simple action will leave a lasting impression, just by simply waving or smiling. The world is your home, we need to be one with it, and not against it. A wise young woman once told me “They say to be the change in the world and right now the world needs a change, so be the change.”
My goal is to inspire all of you to want to leave a lasting impression by the good you do for the world. Your smile will/can change the world. It all starts with a smile. It’s truly changed how I view the world.
