Girls, our hearts are fragile. Not to say that boys hearts aren't either, but as girls, we have many emotions that boys just won't ever understand. You know how our dads are always trying to protect us because we are "Daddy's little girl?" Well, God is the same way. He wants us to be careful with our hearts and to not give it to just any guy that shows us attention. Now I'm here to tell you that you WILL give a piece of your heart to a guy and they will leave and you will never get that piece back. You will go days, months, even years searching to get that piece of your heart back, but you won't ever get it. Harsh, I know, but it's true. But listen, just because you will lose a piece of your heart to a guy you wish you wouldn't have, you will and I promise you when I say this, that you will find a man someday, the perfect one that God picked out just for you and he's going to knock all your walls down, and not only will he have total control of your heart, but most important he will fill that missing piece with so much love and joy that you will forget that you even lost it.
I'm really passionate about this because it has happened to me. I lost a piece of my heart to someone and I've been trying to find a way to fill it. As girls, we love attention from boys who make us feel like we are so special and we so easily put down our guard and we end up getting hurt. I've done this many of times that I feel stupid that I keep falling for it. But that's why we are imperfect. We make mistakes, and we experience heartbreak. It's called living and learning. And yes, it may take hundreds of times for us to finally learn and that's okay! What I'm here to tell you is to not change who you are to make a guy like you. If he doesn't like the standards you've set for yourself than he's not the one. The right one will respect you, wait for you and never give up on you. When a cute boy looks your way and gives you attention I'm not telling you to turn and look away, but just be careful with your heart and let one wall down at a time.
So which leads me to say, the next time you find yourself vulnerable and not sure what to do next, pray. Pray to God that He can show you the way, to help you understand the difference between opening up your heart, and giving your heart away.
Always, always remember that you have value, that you have so much worth and someday, the right guy will come into your life and truly see you for who you are, love you for who you are, but most importantly be with you for EXACTLY who you are.
