Barack Obama: A President Who Knows The Art Of Tweeting

I know I am not the only one who doesn't trust Donald Trump with the @POTUS account.

Barack Obama: A President Who Knows The Art Of Tweeting

Twitter is an important form of social media these days, in only 140 short words you are free to express your thoughts and opinions on any subject. For some, that means discussing relevant, serious topics such as climate change or Spotify playlists. For others, that means making blanket statements and accusations against entire countries and overusing the "CAPS ALL" key and exclamation points.

If you are at all familiar with twitter, you have probably scrolled past the @POTUS account a few times.

Since the creation of the account on May 18, 2015, we have seen President Obama discuss the most important of subjects. He stands in what he believes in, states it professionally and it warms our heart. I could not imagine this account being controlled by @therealdonaldtrump.

It breaks my heart.

However, while President Obama discusses ways to improve our country and offers moral support, Donald Trump is still talking about his victory (several months after the election) and all of his tweets consist of negatively talking about other countries, his enemies, all the "problems" with America, denying his involvement with Russia and attacking a specific group of people.

Besides that, he never seems to offer any real advice to fix these so called problems. Personally, whenever I read his tweets, I read it as a 6 year old little child who is tattling on someone or the other.

In short, I am not prepared for January 20th. I am not ready to say good bye to a President who not only cares about ALL civilians living in America, but cares for every human being (no matter where they come from) and the Earth. I am not ready to say bye to the first family or their little puppy dog, Sunny.

Thank you, President Obama, for serving this already great country with an amazing 8 years. Here is to one more week of being our president and to one more week of having a president who can tweet.

These are only 26 of the many tweets that President Obama has inspired us with, encouraged positivity and showcased the improvements our country has made: all in under 140 words.

1. President Obama believes in using our money the right way.

2. He looks at the scientific facts and then believes what he sees.

3.@POTUS knows good music.

4. Remember this? The kid who made a clock for school (using science and knowledge) and then the school thought that it resembled a bomb, all because of racial stereotypes?

5. A president who knows that instead of building a wall, we should welcome people into the country.

6. Violence is bad. Thank you, President Obama, for recognizing that guns are the biggest threat.

7. Again, @POTUS BELIEVES IN CLIMATE CHANGE. And thinks about the future generations; not just his own. Sure, climate change probably won't effect him too much; but what about the future kids?

8. President Obama: all I can say is thank you. I hope this isn't canceled next year.

9. @POTUS is a proud feminist.

10. President Obama actually did something to combat climate change and save the Earth before it is too late.

11. Optimism is ONE of President Obama's highest qualities. Because of him, he makes everyone feel as if they have a voice and as if they are making a difference. He gives us hope.

12. Ugh, that would be a dream. #HilaryforPOTUS!! Am I right??

13. Look at this! Job growth has increased, without building a wall.

14. President Obama stands proud with #teamUSA. Not only because they crushed it at the olympics this year, but because the diversity that was shown.

15. EQUALITY.

16. Because @POTUS knows that not everyone is an upperclass, rich man.

17. Thank you Obama; thank you for knowing and advocating against sexual assault.

18. @POTUS stands with planned parenthood.

19. President Obama stands with the Cubs, even though he is a White Sox fan. Just an average guy showcasing his love for baseball and sports.

20. Cutest President/VP friendship/brotherhood ever witnessed. May the memes never end, and may all of Joe's pranks work perfectly.

21. I would have to say, the happiness that Obama and Michelle showcase is contagious. They seem to be nothing but welcoming and loving; we need a @POTUS who knows how to smile and how to make everyone else smile too.

22. Such a beautiful quote from President Obama.

23. Because America is not ours to take. We need to preserve the nations most sacred areas and respect those who lived on it before we did. Thank you for recognizing that.

24. One of the biggest parts of history: the legalization of gay marriage EVERYWHERE. And notice how @POTUS said "realizing"; as in, it should have been there to begin with. It is not a privilege, it is a right. Thank you for making sure everyone is treated equal.

25. President Obama knows the right way to say "Happy New Year". Who else recalls Donald Trump saying "happy new year" to his enemies? Well, if you are one of the "many enemies" of Donald Trump, just know that @POTUS wishes you a happy new year. He wishes a happy new year to everybody.

26. Everything about President Obama's farewell speech was beautiful. Even though it is going to be a rough 4 years, @POTUS gives us hope that we can make a difference.

President Obama: you will always be in our hearts as the queen of tweets and a master at being an amazing president. The past 8 years have been great and I know you will continue to make a difference and help us out, even as a citizen.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
