Now that JoJo is down to the final six eligible bachelors – Jordan, Robby, Luke, James, Alex, and Chase – we’re getting closer and closer to the final rose and a Neil Lane sparkler at the end of the season. It’s been quite the adventure so far watching JoJo search for love again after the Ben Higgins heartbreak. As we’re getting down to the final weeks of this season, here’s a quick recap of the events.
1. Chad
Let’s be honest, Chad Johnson’s Bachelorette “villain” status deemed him the talk of the season. From his extreme eating in the California mansion, to his violent group date behavior, to his attitude when they traveled to Pennsylvania, Chad became the most hated guy on the show. However, Chad did have a positive quality – he was honest, in a twisted, disrespectful way. In the end, Bachelor Nation was glad to see him go when Alex received a rose on the two-on-one date in the Pennsylvania wilderness. Bye Chad, see you on Bachelor in Paradise!
2. Country Music Performances
As a country music fan, JoJo’s lived every other fan’s dream of having concerts put on just for her and her date of the night. Charles Kelly and Dan + Shay graced the stage for a couple dates, and JoJo even has a country music crooner suitor in contestant James Taylor. What a lucky girl!
3. South America
JoJo and her men traveled to Uruguay and Argentina this season. It was romantic and eccentric and was the ‘perfect place to fall in love,’ says the Bachelorette herself. Some South American dates included cliff jumping, playing football in the streets, and sending one of the gentleman home in tears with “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina” playing in the background. Sure, it was dramatic, but it just added to the charm of The Bachelorette.
4. One and Done
In South America, JoJo sent contestant Wells home mid-one-on-one date. Considering this is only my second season watching part of The Bachelor franchise, I did not know that the bachelor/ette actually had it in him/her to not hand out a rose on a one-on-one date. It was a bit heartbreaking to watch poor Wells go home mid-date, but JoJo made a decision that she’d only be prolonging had she not sent him home.
5. Tabloid Drama
Somehow, the boys got their hands on a tabloid magazine with some fabricated story about JoJo and her pre-Ben Higgins ex-boyfriend. As luck or fate or the producers’ doing would have it, the magazine ended up in JoJo’s hands, prompting her to believe she needed to do some damage control. As she discussed this situation with her men, they all loyally took her side, standing behind her and telling her to forget her crummy ex-boyfriend. The lesson from this is to not believe everything you read, folks, especially in the tabloid magazines.
JoJo Fletcher and her men have given us quite the entertaining cycle of reality television this season. There are just a few weeks left in JoJo’s journey for love, and it’s sure to be a dramatic, heartbreaking, sitting-on-the-edge-of-your-seat ride.
