Let me just start off by saying I know what you're all thinking, are they really making a second Titanic movie?, that's what I thought when I first heard about it, but reassured "Titanic II" is just the name of a ship that's being made not a movie title.
The Titanic, which was a real ship that did sink in the early 1900s, remains one of the most infamous ships known in the world. In fact, an Australian billionaire, Clive Palmer, is planning on making a real life, fully functioning, replica of the Titanic and hopes to have it ready to sail by 2018. Actually, it was originally supposed to be announced that they were making a second boat in April of 2012. They chose that date because it was the 100th anniversary of the when the Titanic sank. Everything about it will be the exact same as the original ship, well except for the safety regulations since they're much more improved today. As soon as you board this ship it will be as if you traveled back in time to the 1910's, literally. Apparently, guests will also be given authentic costumes so that they can dress up and act like they're really in the 1900s. Just think, now you can see what it was like back then.
People will be able to pay for either first, second, or third class tickets and the ship will hold about 2,400 passengers and 900 employees. It seems that people are actually looking forward to the new and improved Titanic. The voyage will set sail from China to Dubai instead of where the first ship sailed from (Southhampton to New York).
Although, there are some complaints about making this ship. It's mostly from family members of those who died during the tragic event. They think making a second ship and calling it "Titanic II" is insensitive. I think what the Australian Billionaire should do is take at least half of the income that he will make from the ship and give it to a charity in honor of those who died on the original boat. I mean if this billionaire is really doing this then he should be considerate and do something for the families that lost their loved ones.
