Mark Twain once said, "To understand the world, you must understand a place like Mississippi."

Anybody who has even visited Mississippi State knows that Mississippi State is a unique place and has lots of special places that MSU one of a kind. Here are just twenty-six (out of very many) of those special places, events, things, and more listed from A-Z that make Starkville, Mississippi a special place and where we wanted to spend the best four (or maybe more) years of our lives.

Allen Hall

Having a class here is a right of passage.

Baseball

It's kind of a big deal.

Cowbell

Also known as, "The only perscription."

Davis Wade Stadium

Also known as "The loudest stadium," and yes we earned that title.

Egg Bowl

Veruca Salt and Mississippi State have one thing in common, we both just really want that Golden Egg.

Fraternity Row

So many memories.

Greek Bus

The place where you will see at least one person that you will recognize.

Humphrey Couselium

"Basketball is my favorite sport. I love the way they dribble up and down the court..."

Insomnia Cookies

When you cannot sleep, the logical thing is to get cookies delivered to your door, right?

Junction

The hardest place to find your friends.

KFC

Yes, we actually have one of these in Starkville.

Left Field Longue

It was the best of times until the renovations took our beloved longue away.

McCool Hall

If you haven't posted a Snapchat story of yourself studying late at night in this building then do you really go to Mississippi State?

Nine Two Nine

If you have not posted an Instagram story of you drinking coffee and studying here then do you actually go to Mississippi State?

Old Main Academic Center

The newest and nicest building at Mississippi State.

Parking Services

It's a nice feeling to know that even Nick Fitzgerald has trouble parking just like the rest of it.

Quidditch

Yes, we offer a Quidditch class for freshman. We are that cool.

Rick's Cafe

So many date parties, so many swaps, so many concerts, so much fun.

Super Bulldog Weekend

Also known as the greatest weekend of the year.

The Cotton District

The place that makes you feel like you're in Europe instead of Mississippi.

U.S. Rocks

If you haven't seen these guys perform are you even a college student?

(The) Veranda

The place we wish we could afford.

Women's Basketball

Let's give it up for these ladies!

XC

Cross country, their sport is your sport's punishment.

Youth Camps

Mississippi State not only provides an educational opportunity for college students but for elementary, middle school and high-school students as well.

Zacharias Village

It is the gem of North Zone.

If their were more letters in the alphabet I am sure Mississippi State would have a person, place or thing for that.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
