We make about 800 decisions every day. Which route to take to work, what to wear, what to eat for lunch, which show to watch on tv. Without the ability to make up your mind, you are left defeated and very frustrated. More than likely, being indecisive leads you to question yourself and your actions.
We all struggle with making decisions. And after those decisions are made, we are often left questioning ourselves. Did we make the right choice? Should we have done something different? The decisions we make leave us unsure about where our lives are headed, leading us to use the phrase, "I don't know what I am going to do with my life." Thus, furthering our indecisive behavior to be carried on in every aspect of our lives.
Making decisions often implies taking risks and trying new things. For some, this may be tough. Stepping outside of your comfort zone may take a great amount of courage. In the end, it may have been a better decision to stick with the original idea, but that would eliminate the whole learning process. "If you never try, you will never know."

Critique and judgement often steers us away from making decisions. We are afraid what other people will think or we think they will treat us differently if we do something wrong. People that believe this let the ridicule get to them, which is why so many people ask other people what they should do and then proceed to take their advice.
We find ourselves in this consistent cycle of indecisiveness. We can't make the decision, we turn to a friend for advice, we follow through with that advice and then we wish that we would have made our own decision.
There is solely one way to solve this problem. It requires being assertive — not the type of assertiveness that allows you to choose between vanilla or chocolate ice cream, but the kind that gives you the courage to have a reason for your decision.
Taking risks and learning from mistakes are all part of paving your own pathway for the future. Without experience you may never know if you like something. The only regret you should have in life is not trying something new.
Make your own decisions, don't hold back, and live the life that you choose to live. Create your own map to success but don't follow one route to get to the end, try new obstacles and learn from the mistakes that you make. Always remember that in order to foresee your future, whether that be five minutes or five years from now, learn that we cannot depend on others to always make decisions for us. In the end, you will be much happier knowing that you tried something new.
