The Odyssey is an online community that spans across an absurd number of college campuses all throughout the county that gives it's members the ability to broadcast and write about anything their heart desires- whether it be about music, love, partying, or even just study habits. And it's beautiful. In addition to providing news and entertainment to readers, it's also a safe and enjoyable creative outlet for those involved.
However, despite all of the creative freedom us writers have, there's a decently sized list of subjects that seem to pop up in every Odyssey community on a weekly basis. Now, there's no shame in drawing inspiration from your peers, and sometimes you can't think of anything original and have to turn to the classic topics, but still- it's beginning to seem like you can never avoid these articles:
1. An article about someone being unashamed of their (usually conservative) political views.
2. An article dedicated to a boyfriend- either current or former.
3. An article dedicated to a best friend- either current or former.
article that describes different majors with different gifs/movies/characters/etc.
5. An article where it's just photos and gifs of cute animals.
article about "things only student-athletes would know."
7. An article that just lists things, with no gifs or graphics (even I'm guilty of this).
article that tells you what you should watch next on Netflix (guilty of this one too).
9. An article about appreciating and/or joining Greek life.
10. An article about learning to slow down and enjoy college/life in general.
