In the article, Apple Pay to Feature Website Integration Later This Year, Mikey Campbell explains how Apple plans to integrate its Apple Pay services through the Web, which gives a new way to payment for iPhone and iPad users. When Apple Pay makes its debut on the Web it will apparently only be limited to transactions conducted through Safari and other iOS systems such as iPhones and iPads. This restriction will likely be put in place to keep control over the flow of sensitive financial information.
Apple is also trying to get support for Mac users, though it won’t likely happen in the initial launch. The company is also hoping to enable this feature by the lucrative holiday shopping season, but the exact timeline has not been set. Apple Pay is Cupertino’s way of getting into the digital payment arena. U.S. retailers have been slow to obtain Apple Pay, but the number is steadily increasing. Following initial availability in America, Apple extended support to the UK last July, followed by Canada and Australia in November. Lastly, in February, Apply Pay made its exciting debut in China with support for 80 percent of the country's issued credit and debit cards.
I can say that this article impacts me due to the fact that I am an iPhone, iPad, and Mac owner. I’ve actually never heard of Apple Pay until I read this article, but from what I’ve read the future for all Apple owners is looking bright. Technology is getting more simple for the majority people to use. Soon the use of a wallet will no longer be needed because of the finger touch recognition function. After reading about Apple Pay and its many opportunities, I am definitely going to look into using it for myself. I consider myself to an Apple “fan boy.” Every since 2008 when I received my first iPod, I have been a full-fledged member of the Apple club. I am excited for all the other possibilities that this company will produce.
Gabriele Piccolo mentions, “Business integration is considered critical to the survival of the modern firm. Many observers have suggested that in order to stay competitive today’s business ventures must be able to present one face to the customer, provide solutions, and archive global inventory visibility." He continues, “With the business integration imperative taking center stage, information systems professionals and the software industry have sought ways to enable integration. It is evident that without information systems and technology infrastructure to support them, business integration strategies cannot be feasibly integrated.”
I can agree with this statement because it testifies to the fact that Apple is using the integration of technology and business to change the game. Innovation plays a big role in this venture. One of the things that defines a business is its ability to search for potential opportunities. It’s about learning that from each opportunity will be failure, but with that failure also comes success. Each failure and every mishap is an opportunity for to learn and become better.
