Whether you are a Democrat or a Republican does not seem to matter much during this presidential election. But what does seem to matter is one thing — people's level of hatred for the one and only Donald Trump.
I do not think I have ever seen someone in politics hated more than this one individual. With his notorious hair swoop and inability to keep any of his thoughts to himself, he seems to be all anyone can talk about right now. Almost daily there is news centered on this one man and the new things he has said. The media cannot seem to get enough of him and people are using social media to share their own opinions on Donald Trump.
I am not afraid to say that I personally cannot stand Trump. I do not think he belongs in the White House, and I am embarrassed that Americans are even considering to vote him into office. I feel we as a country look like fools for having both of these presidential nominees. One a crazy narcissist who should focus more on running his business empire, and the other one who should be in jail for her criminal actions. Americans are stuck choosing which of the two evils they would rather have in the White House and no one seems happy about it.
Within this last week, I had the pleasure of attending three concerts for three completely different artists. I was amazed at how each artist addressed politics in their own way. I thought I would not have to hear or even think about politics while at these concerts, but I was wrong. The biggest political stance came from all time favorite rapper, G-Eazy. Who had another known rapper, YG, with him on his tour. In the middle of the concert the duo came out and performed their newest hit for the audience this past Friday night. The song surprised many people by its title — "F*** Donald Trump" (I don't think I have to explain what this song focused on). Now, I knew this song already existed because I came across it on SoundCloud a few weeks ago, therefore I was not surprised they performed it during their show, but many people were. What struck me the most though was the fact that everyone there got really into the song. It seemed as if everyone was under the influence of the performers and were fully willing to agree with them when they said "f*** Donald Trump." For the duration of the song, I could almost imagine no one ever even thinking of voting for him. I know that this was YG wrote this song, he wanted to make sure he got the message across. He felt personally victimized by Trump and wanted to do everything in his power to influence young voters into not voting for him, and G-Eazy felt the same way. They played in over 50 cities and reached out to hundreds of thousands of fans. If they couldn't get the message across then I don't know who can.
The fact that someone even took the time to wrote a song about their hatred towards Trump goes to show how strongly people feel about this election. In the end, I know who I will not be voting for when I go to the polls in November. It's not because of this song either, (even though it does help fuel my hatred towards him even more) it's strictly because in the end, I know he would be the worst president the United States has ever seen. Period, end of story.
