I have met a lot of people in college, people who have changed my life, who have helped me through impossible classes, who are in multiple classes with me, and with whom I have built relationships with. As I am starting my senior year, I have realized the importance of finding your person in college, and what they truly mean. My life is truly changed for the better! I know that I have not taken the time to tell you what you mean to me and how thankful I am for you, so here goes nothing.

Dear Person,

First off, thank you, thank you, thank you, for coming into my life. It is no mystery that college is an extremely stressful and scary time for most people. The fact that you came into my life and actually chose to stay during this crazy stage, means the world to me.

Thank you for not leaving me during my crazy mood swings that came during midterms and finals week.

Thank you for the endless dinner/coffee/lunch dates that were supposed to be for homework, but ended up being a social date.

Thank you for letting me vent about assignments that I thought were silly, professors that seemed impossible, and classes that made me want to drop out of college.

Thank you for keeping me on track with my assignments. Lord only knows that I wouldn't have done all of my homework if you hadn't been there to keep me organized.

Thank you for getting to class early and saving me a seat in the front row because you know I can't see, nor pay attention if I sit anywhere else, and for being willing to sit in the front with me.

Thank you for sitting in the hallway with me before class, whether we are cramming for a test or just chatting, I value that time more than you know.

Thank you for accepting my laziness and driving me to my car even though it's in the same parking lot as yours.

Thank you for being on the same wave length as me. I seriously think we share the same brain...we can communicate through just a look. It's freaky and awesome...but freaky!

Thank you for always being on my side and rooting for me, exams, projects/presentations, and anything in between. I know that I will always have at least one cheerleader in my corner.

Most of all thank you for being you, MY person. You have gotten me through so many hard times in this stage of my life, some problems that you didn't even know about, just by being you and knowing that you're in my life helps me!

I am so glad that our paths crossed through this crazy time in our lives and I can only hope and pray that this relationship... sisterhood, can continue on for the rest of our lives.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
