Secretary Clinton,
As we loom closer to January 20, 2017, I am filled with emotions of fear and anguish over the events that will transpire at approximately 12 pm on the West Lawn of the US Capitol Building. This is not the outcome we wanted, and it is certainly not the outcome we worked our hearts out every day for. We lost the election, but I want to make it clear to everyone that it is not your fault. When people say you were not a strong candidate, I kindly remind them that it took the Russian Government, the Director of the FBI, WikiLeaks, and decades of the Republican Party’s installing racism, misogyny, homophobia, and Islamophobia in their base to allow President Elect Trump to win this election. Secretary Clinton, I feel as though you do not get the praise you so rightfully deserve. For the past twenty-five years, you have devoted your life to promote the common good. Your resume made you the most qualified candidate in modern history ever to run for the Presidency, and that within itself is a huge accomplishment. You were an incredibly strong candidate, and it was a true honor to work on your behalf.
Working for you was the greatest opportunity ever bestowed upon me. Not only did I thoroughly enjoy all the amazing experiences I had working in my home state of New Hampshire, but I met people that have become an essential part of my life, even after the election. Working for you allowed me to forge friendships that will last until the end of time, which after January 20 could honestly be any day. Regardless of the impending doom that President Elect Trump is about to force upon our nation, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for not only all you have done for me, but for the millions of people you inspired to vote for you for getting them active in our democracy. There are not enough words in the English language for me to properly convey how grateful I am to have had someone like you fighting in my corner. It gives me undying hope for the future of our democracy to know that there are people like you, people who have gotten knocked down more than they deserve but got right back up and kept fighting, in my corner. Your loss is a tragic one, but it is not in vain. You have inspired thousands of individuals across our nation to pursue public service, to fight the good fight, to do what is right no matter how unpopular it is. I am one of the many you have inspired, and I will never stop fighting. So again, Secretary Clinton, I thank you for being a fighter. You fought long, hard, and valiantly, and the world will never forget it. As January 20 approaches, I will STILL be with you because once you’re a fighter, you are ALWAYS a fighter.
With Love,
A Loyal Fighter
