Dear you,
I see you.
I know you.
I've been where you are.
How many times have you cried this week? How many times have you slid down the wall and sat on the floor, wishing you were somewhere else; wishing you were someone else?
I'm here to tell you: stop.
I know you've heard it all before. "It'll get better", "you just have to stay positive", "don't you think you're being a little overdramatic?"
No, you're not. You are not, nor have you ever been, "overdramatic". You are just simply, feeling. And your feelings are 100% valid. No matter what it may be that's got you thinking "I'm not good enough", you're wrong. Stop letting that little voice in the back of your mind get the best of you. Let me break it down for you with a quick list of reasons that you are, in fact, good enough.
1. You exist
That's it. There's no long, creative list of reasons why. Simply existing is what makes you special, and what makes you worth more than you could ever imagine. People love you. People love your smile, your laugh, the way your voice sounds. Stop feeling like you have to live up to other people's expectations.
Let me let you in on a little secret: you will grow. Be patient. I realize right now, a lot of things might seem like the end of the world, but when people tell you, "it will get better", they're right. Though it might not be what you want to hear, they are telling the truth. In time, you will learn what you need in order to be happy, and you will begin to feel better.
While staying positive is always a good thing to do, I realize that sometimes it's more difficult than you think it might be. So, instead of encouraging you to stay positive, I will encourage you to stay strong. If you are patient, things will improve. However, patience can be a very difficult thing to have, which is why you need to be strong. Patience requires strength.
You always have been, and you always will be good enough. If you ever need a reminder, I strongly suggest you come back to this, and remember that I wrote this specifically for you.
From,
Me
