To all of the kids out there that have had it a little harder, this one's for you.
I know that people are mean and hateful. I know that sometimes our families suck. I know that sometimes nothing happens and we just get sad. I know that people go through things that they should never ever go through.
But, let it make you stronger, let it make you grow. Take all of the harsh words that you have been told or, you have told yourself, and let it make you better. Find the person that will ask you if you're okay and if you can't find them, become that person. You are worth it and you are amazing. Embrace your flaws and work on your strengths. Take a deep breath and remember that everything is temporary. How you feel today, may not last until tomorrow. Those bullies will not mean anything in the future. That mean boyfriend does not define you. Your parent's harsh words, if their intentions are not to better you, let them better you anyway. Those teachers or coaches do not know your potential.
If you are in hell, keep going. If this situation sucks right now, it will not suck forever. I can promise you that. I have been the victim of bullying and I have been at a low place in my life. I have had toxic friends that made me feel worthless. I have had coaches, teachers and adults that have destroyed my self esteem. I have been called every mean name in the book. I have had rumors started about me that are not even humanly possible. I have hated myself and thought I would never be happy again. I got myself out of it and learned to love myself, even my flaws.
Become the best you, that you can be. Work on yourself and do what makes you happy(as long as it's healthy). If that means putting on that lipstick, spending an hour at the gym everyday or writing stories, find your outlet. Surround yourself with good people, people that love you. Get away from the negative and allow yourself to become positive. You are smart, you are beautiful and you are going to achieve greatness. You just must allow yourself to first. But it is not going to be easy and it is not going to happen over night. It is hard work to better yourself and to better your situation, but the end result will be worth it. Anyway, nothing worth having will ever be easy and happiness is very worth having.
One day someone finally asked me, "But are you okay?" That's what I needed; not a venting session, not attention from everyone and not to cry for days. I just needed someone to acknowledge that I was hurting. So, find your person. If you cannot find them, become them. Be the person that will pull anyone aside and ask them if they are alright. You don't have to make them talk about it or make a big deal, just acknowledge that they might not be okay. Knowing that you have been there and you can help someone else, is the most rewarding feeling ever. Be there for people and remember to be there for yourself.
