To The Teachers:
Thank You.
These two words cannot be expressed in a way that shows just how grateful I am. Whether you were involved in my life for a short amount of time or a long duration, you have played a part in shaping me into who I am today. And for it, I am so grateful for all you have done.
Thank you for your lessons and guidance.
Learning from you extended way beyond the subject matter. Lessons in the classroom quickly evolved to lessons in life. Never short of advice or a story to tell, your guidance helped me excel farther than any written curriculum ever would. Learning from you was more than an assignment, it was an eye-opening journey.
Thank you for your time in and out of the classroom.
Not only were you there to help during class time but after our assigned time slot, you were always there to keep me going on the right track. Even when there was nothing to talk about for class, you were there to crack a joke, catch up about life, and have a friend-to-friend conversation instead of a student-to-instructor discussion. Your kindness of offering all that time and full attention made the learning experience even more fulfilling, whether it was in class or not. And the cheesy jokes weren't that bad either.
Thank you for genuinely wanting me to succeed.
Your support of being my number one fan was more than just helpful- it was gratifying. The fact that you wanted me to succeed so badly was an inspiration to me to make it happen. That encouragement alone was enough to keep me going whenever the exhaustion of studying for midterms or finals would get me down. With your constant support in always pushing me further and further because you “knew I could do it,” I realized I could, so I did.
Thank you for the goof-offs.
Taking academics seriously tends to stress an individual out. Lightening the mood with your funny comments and ridiculous bets about the future helped me realize I had more than a teacher to rely on, but an actual friendship which I appreciated greatly. Our banter and endless laughs about the little things is something I will always love sharing with you. And I don’t expect it to change anytime soon.
And thank you for keeping it real.
Never giving me false expectations or unrealistic goals, you kept my head out of the clouds and told me straight how something would play out. And, you were pretty much right. Your truthful nature helped position me in ways I could really make my future a bright one. I am so appreciative of this. I didn’t have all the answers and I couldn’t make every decision by myself. Knowing that you were right there to tell me how it was at any time I texted, emailed, or showed up at your office door was such an awesome feeling. Thank you for always being there.
A ‘thank you’ is just two words of gratitude which are a summary of how I feel. All that you’ve done for me is so much larger than just two words. But I want you to know how much I do appreciate and cherish the times we’ve had in class and out of it — you’ve helped shape my life and I don’t know how I can thank you for it.
‘Thank you’ is really not enough. But thank you anyway…for absolutely everything.
