An Open Letter To The Girls Who Deserve Better

To the girls who are worth more than they believe,

Maybe we can blame the fairy tales we used to read when we were young for getting the idea in our heads that one day someone will come around and sweep us off our feet. Not to say it can’t happen since I’m a firm believer in falling in love and finding your soul mate… but for some reason we want to see the prince charming in even those who we know, in our hearts, aren’t the one now-a-days. Many girls don't realize their worth, and allow the way someone to treat them to define it.

So for the girls that need a little reminder, here’s what you deserve:

You deserve to be taken out on a date, not told to come over and watch a movie, because in our generation that has gained a whole different meaning. You deserve to be told you’re beautiful even without a full face of makeup and your hair done. You deserve to have someone that you can depend on, not someone who wants to be in your life only when it’s convenient for them. You deserve someone that will always hold the door for you, despite popular belief chivalry is so far from dead. You deserve someone that will accept you for everything that you are and never want to change you. And most importantly you deserve to be happy with or without someone in your life, because you should never rely on anyone for your happiness.

Why would you feel the need to keep someone in your life that gives you anything less than these things, when there are 7 billion people on the planet? There is so much life to live and people you’ll meet along the way, so wasting your time on one person that only hinders your ability to see your worth is not okay. Even though we all dream of eventually having our happy ending, until then find what makes you happy and focus on chasing your dreams. Throughout this process we can’t forget that sometimes you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince.
