I was a sister, a dedicated, happy and proud sister. Things happen, and for me, one of the biggest changes that came with last spring was the decision to change my major. With my change in major, it brought me to the decision that what was best for me was that I change Universities.
To my sisters who took me as their own and helped shape me as a person in a single semester, I don’t think I could ever thank you enough.
At this school, If I told someone what sorority I was a member of, no one would have any idea what I was talking about, simply because what our sisterhood holds is contained simply at that small private University. With this in mind, I want each of you to know that even in this new University and phase in my life, and as I make new friends, that I carry each and every one of you with me.
When I was initiated into that club, I took an oath to promise to be there for each of you. We hold a bond that goes beyond the roster that my name is no longer on. In my eyes, our hearts are laced together, and it is something that can never be broken no matter where life takes us. I think most of us by now have heard the song “For Good” from the musical Wicked. One of the lines in the song is “Because I knew you, I have been changed for good.” Boy can I say that for each of you.
Whether you realized it or not, each of you showed me that being myself, and the uniqueness that we all possess, is one of the most precious things God has given this world. You showed me how deeply I could love a group of women, and the beauty that comes in memories. You entered into my life at the most perfect moment; to prepare me for a big change that would become one of the biggest parts, and one of the most magical seasons of my life. You showed me who I was, and who I was going to be.
The life I led at that school was exactly what I needed at that point in my life, and still is; the life involving you. I want each of you to know that I think about you every day. I think about the group of gorgeous god-fearing ladies I was lucky enough to get to know. Each of you gave me something to carry with me as I enter this new phase in my life. For this, I am forever grateful.
