Dear me,

It's me, well, you. So how are we doing? Any mental breakdowns lately? I'm going to take a wild guess and say the answer to the last question is yes, because I know you pretty dang well. Hang in there. Go to a coffee shop alone like you like to do. Go for a walk. Paint something. Better yet, go get a drink because gurl you are legal. Whatever it is you're having trouble with (and are probably waayy overthinking), will all be alright. You are much stronger than you give yourself credit for. You may be older now, but I have a feeling you may still need some reassurance and maybe a few tips that you have tucked away somewhere in that busy mind of yours. So here we go.....

1. Don't Settle

You've always been pretty good at making sure life doesn't fall into the mediocre category, so don't start now. Don't settle for a job that make you miserable, an outfit you're uncomfortable in, or a donut that isn't cream-filled. You have the right to do things that make you happy, and don't settle for anything other than that (and of course donuts are one of the things that make you happiest...fatty).

2. Call mom and dad, right now

You may have already talked to them today, but call them again just to tell them you love them. You hit the jackpot in the parent department, and I know you know that already, but it can't hurt to reinforce these facts. There is a 90 percent chance that mom will be on the beach when you call. Oh, and dad will either be on the farm or taking a quick break to go get a Coke. Man, those are some good people. Don't take them for granted.

3. Treat Yo'self

I know you've been working hard to achieve what you've been wanting all of your life, and I know sometimes things can get overwhelming (ya know, with you being super old and all), but you've got it handled. Treat yourself, whether it's a trip to the beach, buying a bucket of ice cream or just buying yourself something little. You deserve it, and you deserve to be proud of yourself.

4. Pray Often

You may be struggling right now, or you may be in the greatest place you've ever been. Either way, pray about it. Look to God as a guide and a friend in every situation. You will come out stronger and more confident with Him on your side.

5. Don't be so hard on yourself

Yes, I know exactly how it goes. You hate messing up, you hate letting yourself down, and you especially hate letting others down. But you're going to mess up so many times and you're going to let people down, and life is gonna go on. Don't be so tough on yourself, you're human. You have good intentions and that is what counts.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
