I see articles everywhere about girls who have those friends that they do everything with. The friends who are down to have a sleepover always, or who are always willing to hang out. I didn't have that until I came to college. When I first came here, It that I would have never have someone that considered to be "my person." I thought that I had found that person during my first couple of weeks, but as it turns out; things change over the course of a few weeks. That being said, that person and I are still close, but things definitely aren't as they used to be.
We all need friends that we can count on, or what we know will always be there. That's why I consider YOU to be my best friend, my person, the one that I always go to. You're my best friend because you get me, because you know me sometimes better than I know myself. You're there for me when I'm down or even when I'm up and just need someone to tell my feelings to. We're both busy with our lives in college, and we both don't get to talk much during the week, but when we do talk during the weekends; its like no time has ever passed.
You're the friend I think of when I want to travel places, or the friend that I think of when I want to go out in the city. (Even though those plans are still pending and still have to happen…) You care about everyone around you and always want your friends to be happy, even when you may not be in the right mindset. It means so much to me that I was lucky enough to find you freshman year, and that throughout the next few years we;'re only going to built on that.
Even though we live miles apart when we aren't in school, time never seems to pass because when we meet again it's like nothing ever changed.
I can't wait for all our new memories together and to tell old stories when we're 40 drinking bottles of wine while our kids play together, and eating way too many nachos (with guac ofc)... Because I know nothing will change by then. I appreciate you and everything you do for me, and I hope that you always know that…
Thanks for being you & for being there always
