Dear Aunt,
I am so glad that I can officially call you that. Legal documents and wedding rings may give you the legal title, but to me, you have been my aunt since the day I met you.
It didn’t take long for me to realize how much my uncle loved you, and that made me happy. He is one of my favorite people in the entire world, so to know he has you brings me comfort. Plus, you two go together so well. Seriously, I haven’t seen a power couple like you guys in a while.
You are a special woman — I think anyone would agree with that. Not a lot of people are genuine the way that you are, so I’m never having to wonder if you are different than what appears. You are down to earth and easy to talk to (which is super helpful for someone with social anxiety) and aside from your personality, you are absolutely stunning. Your two daughters are just as cool as you too, which means that I get more cousins to hang out with (score!) And on top of all of this… YOU CAN COOK! I guess what I’m trying to say is that I’m proud of my uncle for snatching you up when he did.
Our family has been through a lot, you know that, and I cannot imagine how we would have gotten through it without you. Your bravery during tribulation never went unnoticed, not by me. The way you woke up early to make us breakfast, even though you were exhausted. The way you dressed up and looked just as beautiful as any other day, even though you probably didn’t feel like it. And the way you would smile and make sure everyone was happy, even when you weren’t. You may not have thought we noticed all the effort you put into making that hard week bearable for everyone, but we did.
You are the perfect fit for our family. Honestly, you may even be a little too good for it! Nevertheless, we are so glad to finally have you be a part it, and hope that you feel the same way. As your official new niece, I vow to always eat the food you cook, fly in for holidays, and keep you up to date on any family gossip. Thank you for being such a blessing to us these past couple years. I look forward to making many new memories with you in them!
