Dear Forever Friends,
That's what I call you. I know I don't say it to your faces much but that is what you are to me. You are an eternity of memories and lifelong friendships. You are the people who have stood beside me through thick and thin even when I asked you not to. You are the people that have given me the courage to attempt new things and challenge myself to become a better me. You are the people that help me through the struggles of everyday life when I feel like I can't be helped anymore. You are the people who give me the strength to keep going, keep fighting, keep developing as an individual. You are the people I am most grateful for. You are my forever friends.
Whether we have known each other all our lives or only a few short months, I can tell you right now that you are the people that I want to be around for the rest of my life. You are the few individuals that have touched my heart in a way that has left me speechless and in debt to your friendship. You are the people who give me a reason to keep on living day to day. No matter the emotional distance or physical that can come between us, you will always be in my heart and on my mind.
I know what you're thinking, why am I even saying these things? It's so unlike me to open up and, trust me, it's terrifying to me but you deserve to know just how special you are to me every day and since I can't tell you every day then I want you to be able to go back to this letter whenever you're feeling down and remember that, no matter how hard it is for me to say, I will always care about you more than anyone else. You have made such a difference in my life and without you I would be nothing.
I hope you want a future with me as friends as much as I want a future with you. I hope one day we grow old together, aging our bodies with memories of past experiences. Stretch marks from your first kid, laugh marks from the times I got so drunk I fell down the stairs to our apartment, the frown marks from all the times I've comforted you when you cried, and so many others. We have become engrained in one another's lives and I wouldn't change that for the world.
So thank you, so much, for being a part of my life. I wouldn't change a minute of the fights and the arguments and the smiles and the hugs that we have shared together and I hope you feel the same.
