Dear Best Friend,
Wow, we have really been through a lot together. From day one on the volleyball court when I first met you, I never in a million years thought that we would be as close as we are today. From our shared horse and dog obsession to our love of the outdoors and shooting, we are, one would argue, made for each other. People are always talking about how they found their soulmate in their significant other. Me? I found my soulmate nine years ago when we were stuck going on a tube together at captains' practice on the lake.
There are too many things I can say to you but above all I want to say thank you. Thank you for being the sister who is always here for me, no matter what time of day or night or what you're doing, I know that I can always count on you. Thank you for bearing with me when I went through a terrible relationship junior and senior year of high school. Without you, I guarantee I would have completely lost my mind. Thank you for taking midnight drives with me, just blasting music and driving way faster then we should through the back roads, for no reason other than that it cleared our minds. Thank you for not killing me when we got pulled over in the convertible. Thank you for understanding that on your 21st birthday, I could not be there as much as I wanted to be because my beautiful niece, your birthday buddy, was born. Thank you for all of our road trips to Nevin's Farm, Dover, and Saratoga, to name just a few. Thank you for all of our incredible adventures; we have more fun than anyone I know.
On a more serious note, thank you for being my shoulder to cry on when I lost my two best friends, Cody and Axil. The strength and love you possess radiated from yourself to me and gave me the strength to move forward, I could not have done it without you. Thank you for the small gesture of bringing Emma to see me at our classy Dunkin date after losing Axil. In that short amount of time, she helped me heal, if only a little bit. I love her just as much as I love you.
Above all, I want to thank you for being you. Every perfect flaw, talent, and emotion, thank you for them all. Because without them, you would not be the amazing, incredible person you are today. I thank you for it all.
Here is to many, many more shenanigans. And always remember, we are a little messed up, but it's all alright.
Lots of Love,
Your Best Friend
