An Open Letter To Moe's

Welcome to Moe's!

Dear Moe's,

To the place that has changed my life... for the better. Moe's Southwest Grill, you hold a special place in my heart.

Firstly, thank you, to the Moe's employees who make feel welcome each time I walk into a Moe's establishment with a happy and hearty, "Welcome to Moe's!". At first, I was scared, but now you make me feel right at home.

Every time I get online, I take a glimpse at the menu and realize the amazing amount of options that I have. Not only are there the amazing burritos, tacos, and bowls. There are numerous options for nachos, fajitas, quesadillas, and salads. Amazing. But of course, I will stick with my usual. No need to change what's already great.

When I step up to create my order, I am flabbergasted by a number of toppings I can place upon my all-mighty tacos. "20+ fresh ingredients" wow.

Right in front of my eyes I see my soon-to-be-devoured meal become created by my fairy godmother, the Moe's employee.

Piles of chicken, tons of cheese, dollops on dollops of sour cream. Yes.

I then get to the cash register and ask for a side of something very special.

One word. One syllable. Say it and I'm yours... queso.

The Moe's queso is something that is not of this world. Who knew that just some melted cheese could make people so truly happy. I believe queso could help to find world peace. Seriously.

Then I get my side of free, yes free, chips. Baskets upon baskets of free chips.

After I pay I am then faced with a buffet of different Moe's salsa. There are so many to choose from. From spicy to mild, the possibilities are endless. Why not just have them all?

Lastly, I am faced with one last challenge before I go on to enjoy my meal. The holy soda drink machine thing. This drink machine is magical. It has literally every single beverage you could ever imagine. It's truly overwhelming.

Finally, I am ready to sit down and eat my meal. Every bite transports me to heaven.

Sadly, eventually the food runs out and I am left looking at an empty tray. This is when I begin to contemplate my emotions. Yes, I am sad my Moe's has come and gone with a blink of an eye, but I am happy and full to the brim with Moe's goodness.

You are happy you made the decision to go to Moe's instead of Chipotle. Moe's not only makes you feel at home but Chipotle does not have as many options, but also there is no queso there. Why?

I then depart Moe's feeling happy. Knowing that one day I will soon return. You go home and lie in bed. Drifting off into a food coma.

Until next time Moe's,

Me

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
