Dear Fraternity Party Guest,
First off, thanks for coming. Please make yourself at home. Talk with the brothers, hang out, dance, drink, and enjoy each other’s company. We want you to have a great night and add to your undergraduate experience. We don’t want tonight to go badly, so please, as you enter our house, here are just a few things to keep in mind.
If you’re already too intoxicated, we will likely not let you in. This has nothing to do with your race, sexuality, or gender. We just want to make sure that you don’t harm yourself or ruin the night for other party-goers. However, we would love to walk you home and make sure you get to bed safely. That’s what our sober monitors are for.
When you get to our house, please know your limits. If you drink too much and get sick, it’s our carpet, our bed, our couch that you’re ruining. We’re the ones that will likely be cleaning up after you, and nobody wants to spend their night doing that. We all want to have fun.
If you want to dance, don’t get too handsy on the dance floor. We all want to dance, and we want you to have fun at our house. But, if you get too touchy on the dance floor and start grinding on a guy or girl who doesn’t feel the same, we’ll likely ask you to leave. Nothing against you, we just want to make sure everyone feels safe in our house and no one’s night gets ruined.
Don’t take our food/drinks without permission. We pay a lot of money to keep our kitchen stocked so that we have food to eat. I’m sure we’ll be more than happy to provide you with a snack or a drink, just ask first.
Most importantly, talk to the brothers. We’re having this event for everyone to enjoy and get to know our house. So come hang out, say hi, and let’s share a beverage. Please don’t use our house as a venue to advance your own agenda, that’s not cool, man.
So come in, enjoy the night, but know that this is our house. We’re opening our home to you so we can all have a fun night, so treat it like you would your own. Ask before you take. Clean up after yourself. Don’t steal stuff with letters on it. Just respect us, our house, yourself and your fellow party-goers, and we’re all going to have a great night!
Yours Truly,
The Hosts of the Party,
The Brothers of the Fraternity
