This is a letter to my future self for when life gets too stressful and all I want to do is curl up in a ball and watch an entire season of "Gilmore Girls." This is for when life seems to consist of only deadlines, bills and challenging responsibilities. This is a letter to remind myself of the important things, to motivate myself, and to reassure myself that everything is going to be okay.
Dear future self,
Be proud of yourself.
You have made it to this point in life. You have successfully made it through college, falling in love and out, the struggles, and hardships are all worth it for this moment, because regardless of whatever is going on in life right now, you are successful, so be proud of yourself. Don't cut yourself short.
Don't forget where you came from.
You are where you are because of the people of helped you get there. Your family, friends, teachers and anyone else who touched your heart through out your journey has brought you here. Don't forget them, thank them when you can, help them when they need and cherish the values and morals they helped instill in you. Stay true to your roots.
Keep your head up.
As you get older, life is going to get harder and you are going to be throw a lot of obstacles and be dealt your fair share of difficult situations, but that does not mean you stop moving. Life doesn't stop for anyone, so don't slow down. Keep your head up and put one foot in front of another. It will get better.
Love others fearlessly.
The beauty in life is in others and the relationships you make with them. Don't let life make you bitter, love others even more than they love you, every day. Why would you make yourself this vulnerable? Because these are the people that will carry you when you're down, they are the people that will make you greatest moments better, and the ones that make life worth all of it. Love is so powerful.
You're not done yet, keep climbing.
If you have reached a point in life where you're happy with every aspect of it, that is truly amazing, but don't stop there. Yes you are happy, and you have reached your goals, but keep on pushing. There is no excitement and challenge in life if there is no passion to grow. So, work for that promotion, work to be better at your hobby, work to be more fit, work to be better than you are today. Keep on pushing yourself beyond your boundaries because only then will you look back and know you lived as remarkably as possible. Life is precious, don't waste it.
Simply, trust in Him.
He has a plan for you, all you have to do is trust and keeping working. He will guide you towards what He wants for you. For, His plan is greater than any giants you may come across. Remember that daily.
With love, 19.
