Leaving college is hard, but what I think is harder is saying goodbye to the organizations I've become so deeply involved with and attached to. These organizations made my college experience what it is, and for that, I am forever grateful.
To my sorority, thank you for being the friends I always wanted in college. Thank you for being everything I needed to make SUNY Brockport worth staying at. Rushing Spring 2014 was definitely not what I expected, but I'm so happy I did. I didn't expect to meet the women I did. I had the stereotypes in my head; the tall, thin blondes who love makeup and drinking more than anything. The stupid girls who only party. But you are all so much more than that. You're incredibly smart, talented and genuine. You all have made me realize how stupid sorority stereotypes are because they're the furthest thing from the truth. All my sisters have made college everything I hoped it could ever be. You are the middle ground of crazy fun and career/school oriented. I will see you all at alumni weekend. Once, always.
To the campus radio station, you're the best thing that has ever happened to me. Everyone I have met here has touched my life in a positive way. I feel so prepared for my career in radio, all thanks to everything I have had the opportunity to do here. Besides the experiences for my career, you have all changed my life. I didn't even want to go into radio until I met you all at the station. The lunch crew, the news reporters, the DJs, everyone. I'll never be able to thank you all for what you have done. The professor who runs the station has changed my outlook on life and radio; he has set me up for success. My time at the radio station was truly the cherry on top of college. I'll never forget all the memories I have made here.
To my Odyssey team, you are all awesome, don't ever change. It may be less than a year that Odyssey has been at SUNY Brockport, but it feels like we've been working together for years. You are inspiring people, all with so many different talents. Your stories and life experiences are what make you great writers. I know that when I leave, you will carry the team forward and be more successful than ever. Whenever you think you have nothing left to say, remember there is always a story to be told.
These organizations have made college worth it. Thank you, to everyone.
