On June 1, 2017, President Trump pulled America out of the Paris Climate Accord, the first environmental global deal signed by 195 countries agreeing to reduce greenhouse gases in the Earth's atmosphere to slow down global warming. This makes America one of only three countries on Earth to not sign the agreement, along with Syria and Nicaragua. The effects of pulling out of this deal will be drastic.

Here are five potential effects you need to be aware of:

1. America's international credibility will go down the drain.

Climate change is an international problem that the entire world faces. America, as one of the leaders in releasing emissions, has a huge role to play in cleaning up the atmosphere, but with this withdrawal, America's standing as a superpower in the world will become undermined due to lack of action to fix the environment.

2. Jobs here. Jobs there. Jobs everywhere? Not really.

While it has been found staying in the agreement will cause a loss of almost 400,000 jobs, this is only a fraction compared to the amount of jobs created if America stayed in the deal. Due to the withdrawal, America will lose its lead in environment-friendly industries, which are on the rise, such as wind, solar and carbon capture. This will lead to losses in economic competition to other major powers.

3. This hampers opportunities for scientists to invent new technologies to help stop carbon emissions.

Logically, if the U.S. doesn't get involved in the aim to fix climate change, American scientists lose the opportunity to help international inventions to stop carbon emissions, also slowing down technological advancement.

4. It will endanger U.S. National Security.

The military will also be affected by extreme weather change and lack of action against the problem. International military operations, bases, missions and facilities are also based on regional weather. If the government doesn't do anything to fix global warming, the climate will become irregular, and missions and operations will become next to impossible in decades to come.

5. The future of the human race, well — there might not be a future anymore.

The most major effect is, without the U.S.'s help, the climate will continue to become more and more erratic. U.S. is one of the world's superpowers and leaders in environmental change, but without their help, global warming will become more prominent. This will lead to terrible health effects on the population. The atmosphere will become more polluted creating more respiratory diseases, and warmer waters will lead to more water-borne diseases. Food supplies will go down due to erratic weather causing a change in agricultural seasons. The results will be disastrous.

At the end of the day, there is, currently, no other planet that can sustain life. Global warming does not choose certain people or certain countries to target. It targets the whole world which is why we need to come together to fight this problem. Global warming is very much real; the climate is changing. The real question is: why aren't we?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
