The largest mass shooting in American history has happened again.
Only 16 months after the last largest mass shooting in American history. We can hardly go a day without seeing that someone has been shot and killed. People are being killed every day by something we could easily start to regulate and we are standing by and letting it happen.
I’m not going to get into the logistics of gun control. I don’t want to argue about whether or not we can claim that the second amendment applies to automatic rifles when it was written in a time of muskets. I don’t want to hear arguments about how criminals can get guns anyway. If you want to look at the logistics of gun control and how it would work, I suggest researching Australia, or Japan, or literally any other first world democratic country because the US is the only place this kind of thing happens. I want to talk about why this is important.
People are dying. People are dying at an alarming rate and we are letting them. Policymakers who stand in the way of gun control reform are aiding and abetting in these murders. The NRA actively pushing for no legislation and donating money to congressmen who vote against this are complicit in these murders. People who claim that gun control is not an issue are helping murder these people.
We can not sit complacently as people continue to gun down others in the street. We can not let this continue like this. People are dying, at music festivals, at nightclubs, at schools. And once we decide that we can live with this kind of slaughter, we are lost.
