Alone time doesn't make you a loner...
In fact, it opens a whole world of new experiences for you to focus on for yourself.
Seeking alone time is totally normal. When you’re happy, sad, angry, confused; being alone is a cure-all.
Now, I don’t mean alone as in cutting out all your friends, family or significant others just to improve your life. I mean that regardless of having these people by your side, being alone helps you understand and appreciate what you truly have.
So, turn down the plans for a Tuesday night, wrap up in a blanket and absorb the comfort of your room and the surrounding activities to bask in.
Being alone helps you realize that you can handle ANYTHING and that you are capable of doing anything you set your mind to. I have learned that some people may bring you down and make you feel like you cant do it, even for the simplest task. Neglect the negativity some people may bring and embrace the positivity in achieving goals alone.
Being alone gives you a chance to organize your thoughts, activities and general life-stuff.
Alone time helps you grow as a person while helping you realize that you can achieve anything, which can help boost your confidence!
Anxiety used to restrict me from doing anything alone. I was so afraid that the minute I was alone something would happen to me and nobody would be there for me. Battling through anxiety the random attacks showed me that I just have to conquer it at any time. More and more I would test and prove to myself that I can talk to strangers, I can go to the mall alone, I can drive anywhere and I would be okay.
You will always end up okay. Taking time to focus on yourself and learning to like being by yourself will be the best decision made. Constantly being around people can feel constraining and like you cannot focus on anything besides that. Taking time for yourself will help you get certain goals and tasks achieved without distraction, and you will do it right.
New experiences can come from managing anything by yourself. You will meet others, you will become independent and you will learn to manage feelings and thoughts on your own. More importantly, you will be able to take on tasks and handle your own feelings for yourself without anybody giving you advice that may or may not work out.
Always go with your gut and take on your life, enjoy your time with others, and enjoy your time for yourself, because when you're with others you may finally realize how badly you wish you had stayed home.
Read a book, begin a calendar, write articles, knit a blanket, catch up on a Netflix series, go on a shopping spree; acknowledge the world around you alone. It will open up new ways to view exactly how you live your life.
Maybe, just maybe, you will find yourself happier after taking care of yourself.
