Some of us are in school for 15, 20, 25+ years of our lives. However, it's the time that we all spend in Kindergarten in which we learn some of life's greatest lessons...and then forget them.
Kindergarten is one of the best times of a person's life. It's a carefree atmosphere that promotes creativity, an adventurous spirit and friendship. It also teaches us many important life lessons that are crucial for living a happy life. Why do we choose to forget these lessons?
1. Treat other people how you want to be treated.
We usually learn this lesson on day 1. The Golden Rule. We get punished if we break this rule and we only make friends if we treat them nicely. However, as we progress through school, we often forget this rule and treating others as we would want them to treat us becomes unimportant for the success of our academic careers.
2. Clean up your own mess.
I've found that people tend to forget this rule when they move away from home. This becomes especially frustrating when you make up the minority who has not forgotten this rule. You also automatically become responsible for your friends who choose to forget this rule. It's fantastic.
3. Strive for balance in your life.
Kindergarten is all about the balance. You have craft, math, snack and nap time all in one. We tend to forget this rule when we fixate on one goal or are narrow-minded.
4. Hold hands and stick together.
Cherish the friends and loved ones in your life and be there for them. On the contrary, occupying the mindset of "every man for themselves" is a very dangerous state of mind.
5. Say your'e sorry when you're wrong
Keeping ones humility is difficult as we grow older. But it's worth it and it doesn't good unnoticed.
Sometimes it's necessary to take a step back and remember the lessons that we all learned way back when.
Work hard. Enjoy life. Love others. Smile.
