Everyone says freshman year is the best year of your life. Create a mini bucket list and make sure you are able to cross them all off before finals come around!

Sit in upper bowl

Every football game, all freshman sit in the upper bowl. Yes, it is the highest point in Bryant Denny Stadium, but it is one of the best parts of football season. Even though you can barely see anything because you're so high up its always fun to be with all the other freshman and to met new ones. The upper bowl is iconic to freshman year

Ride on the Crimson Ride

The Crimson Ride is the main transportation system at the university. It includes many different buses with different bus routes. definitely is crucial to freshman because it not only helps you learn the campus fast, but gets you around. The best advice I can give is that Gold 2 will get you where you need to go from your dorm room. The Crimson Ride is one of the best additions to campus. The best free transportation in Tuscaloosa.

See how many people can fit in an uber

In college, Uber will become your best friend. You'll uber in the morning to class or at night from the bars. But your one enemy will be your wallet. That's why when someone orders an Uber, you try to fit as many people as you can. It's always fun to see how many people can fit in an Uber. You'll feel like a clown car at the circus. But you definitely do what you gotta do to save money.

Go to Cookout at 1 a.m.

Cookout is one of the most underrated fast food restaurants but here in Tuscaloosa, it's one of the most loved places by college students here Alabama. The cheap and greasy food is a staple in our diet and going there at 1 AM with your best friends it a must and you can't forget their creamy milkshakes!

Attend a swap

Greek life is a big part of the culture here, and when you're a freshman in a fraternity or sorority, you have to go. A swap is when a sorority and a fraternity pair up and have a party in the frat's band room. I definitely went to all of my swaps and they were the highlight of my freshman year. It's so fun to go a party with your sisters to meet random boys and you never know they could end up being your best friends.

Go to Rounders

Rounders is one of the most prominent bars on the strip. It's a place where mostly freshman go to have their first bar experience. It's always a good time and where many memories are made.

Find your new friends

A part of college is finding the right group of friends. They're essential to life here in college. In college, you basically spend all of your time with your friends. Especially if you're in Greek life, your brothers and sisters will help you with homework, go eat with you and tailgate the games together. Even today I went to my friend's lab just because I was bored and wanted to be with my friends.

Learn the song "Dixieland Delight"

"Dixieland Delight" is a tradition here at the Capstone. Everyone here knows and loves the song. They recently brought it back at the football games, and when it comes on, the whole stadium gets wild. So if you want to attend the University of Alabama, learn the lyrics to "Dixieland Delight."

Take your Big Al pic

Big Al is Alabama's mascot. When you go to orientation, it's necessary to get a picture with Big Al. It's always fun to look back at your new high school graduate self with Big Al and to see how far you've come.

At the end of the day. freshman year is one of the best years of your life. It's such a great experience and I'm so lucky to be having mine at the University of Alabama. One thing I have definitely learned from my freshman year here is Roll Tide!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating.
