DO: Pack light and in an organized fashion

DON'T: Carry 50 different bags, struggling to carry them all at once

DO: Arrive at the airport early

DON'T: Get mad at people because you were late

DO: Read signs before security check and make sure everything that needs to be in a tray, is

DON'T: Be the person who holds up the whole line because you insist on bringing your water into the terminal

DO: Buy snacks and food at the airport

DON'T: Bring every leftover from your house and eat it on the plane

DO: Meet new people and introduce yourself

DON'T: Tell someone your whole life story

DO: Shut your child up

DON'T: Let your child run up and down the aisles screaming or crying

DO: Be aware of the space around you

DON'T: Take up all the space —Reclining a chair is not helping you and certainly not helping those behind you

DO: Follow boarding, takeoff, and landing procedures

DON'T: Be the person who has to go to the bathroom when there’s 30 seconds till landing

DO: Be patient as the plane completely stops

DON'T: Rush to take off your seatbelt and get your bags in the overhead compartments, hitting people’s head in the process

DO: Thank the flight attendants and pilot

DON'T: Stop in the middle of the tunnel bridge trying to situate yourself

DO: Have a safe and fun travel!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
