Adult Coloring Is Awesome

The world hates on the most useless activities. One activity that people hate on is coloring, specifically adult coloring. I have noticed, some of the people who complain about coloring haven’t tried it. I love coloring, and i think everyone could benefit from it. Coloring helps with your focus, it can be calming, and gives you a creative outlet.

Coloring helps you focus, because it gives you a very specific activity to focus on. Adult coloring books are perfect for this because they have a lot of details that need to be colored. It helps tune out the rest of the world so you can focus just on that moment. Coloring is a meditative hobby that lets part of your brain to relax.

The repetition of the motion of the pencil on the paper and the ability to let your mind wander is extremely calming. If you are having a bad day, you can put it aside for a second to color a page of your coloring book. The only issue you need to focus on, at that time, is what colors you need to fill the page with. Once you have calmed down enough and created a masterpiece you will be able to focus on your real problems with a level and clear head.

When we get comfortable in the routine of our daily lives, we end up becoming bored. The reason we are so bored is because we have no time to go out, or just relax. Coloring is perfect for giving ourselves a creative outlet, and is a fun way to add a little color into our lives. Literally. Some days you might use a lot of greens and blues because you are feeling down. Another you might use reds, oranges, and yellows because you are happy. Then maybe you’ll use darker colors like black and red because you are angry. The possibilities are endless. No one else will color that picture the same because they don’t think how you think or feel how you feel.

Coloring is also a great way to bond with people. If you and your friends all color you could do it while hanging out. Sometimes when we are having a hard time we just want company, not necessarily conversation. Coloring is a great way to be with someone but not need to interact. It is becoming so popular that this could be a way to make new friends. When you meet someone new, you could ask if they color and if they do then, boom, instant connection.

Adult coloring is fun and anyone who tells me that coloring is only for kids should at least try coloring just once, at the age that they are, just to see if they will like it. People are always going to find a reason to be upset, but targeting something as harmless as coloring seems ridiculous. Some other fun activities people don’t like are: Pokemon Go, reading, dancing, laughing, Angry Birds, etc. Before you decide you don’t like something, you should try it first, just to see what happens.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
