Have you ever been in awe of God's creation?
This spring break, I went to Destin with a group of friends, and there was a section of rocks that people would walk on. Of course, two of us could not pass up the opportunity to climb the rocks and enjoy the view.
Two hours went by, but we did not want to leave. The section was peaceful and quiet. Also, it gave us an opportunity to just talk about life. Most importantly, the view just took me away! I had so many questions such as, "Why can this not be in McDonough?" "How/why did God place these rocks at this certain location?" There are thousands of questions that could be asked. Sometimes we do take items for granted and do not realize their significance in our lives.
Here's the thing, this particular rock resembles that not everyone nor everything should be the same. We are all created differently for a specific reason. God did not plan for us to look the same, but here we are trying to look and act like others. Just like people, each beach is a little different in its own way. Destin is different from Gulf Shores or even Panama City. The people, stores, everything is a little different at each place.
Destin has always been my favorite beach, but I had never sat there to look at the beauty of the location surrounding me. It was the little things that stood out, the people, the rocks with writing on them and the dolphins.
How many times do you sit back and look at what God created? Too many times I go about my day without noticing everything around me. This week was a reminder for me that God created everything perfectly in his image.
"Therefore, I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, or what you will put on. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?" (Matthew 6:25-26)
I do not believe we should consider ourselves of more value than others or animals, but we should remember than through everything God has a plan. He planned for the events to happen in your life that took place, and he planned for you to be here.
What would have happened if I noticed all of this sooner? Would my outlook be different than it is now? Honestly, I'm not sure, but I do know that God had a plan for me to go to the beach at this certain time.
Sometimes we all need to take a step back and just admire the scenery around us!
