The women holding "Keep Abortion Legal" signs often have three uniting factors. They are white. They are middle class. And they will likely never have an abortion.
They live in suburban neighborhoods or a cramped but cute downtown apartment. They may have an annoying roommate who eats all the cereal or a husband who refuses to put his dirty socks in the laundry bin, but the tribulations of the poor are a remote —even vague — reality.
"The poor" are a political tool to be wielded when wishing to rub their superiority in the face of their political adversary. The typical woman who supports abortion wears her concern for the poor on her cashmere sleeve. She may even re-post memes about her compassion for the poor, stolen from Bernie Sander's Dank Meme Stash. Their closets are cluttered with protest signs, pussy hats and a slightly outdated Marc Jacobs purse.
Media awareness of abortion supporters main demographic reached national attention as a result of the Women's March, but it has been a reality since the legalization of abortion in 1973.
Middle class white women championing the elimination of the poor and differently-abled dates back to Planned Parenthood's founding, which at the time was called the American Birth Control League (ABCL). ABCL's founder Margaret Sanger, was a self-acknowledged (white, middle class) eugenicist. Her influential book,"Pivot of Civilizations", tapped into white, urban elite resentment of petty criminals and the indigent poor — many of whom lived in the cities' ever-increasing slums. In her work, she presents the idea that the unfit are the differently-abled, the poor and their offspring. She describes this marginalized group as a "permanent menace to the human race" and "dead weight of human waste."
Margaret Sanger's solution: birth control, the elimination of philanthropy, the dismantling of special education programs and forcing all persons with disabilities (physical or otherwise) into institutions to prevent their reproduction. The Inter-War period and World War II presented the epoch of utilitarianism, nativism and fascism. Therefore, Sanger's words were not unsettling. Indeed, they were the general consensus. Sanger in many ways appealed to the same people Donald Trump appeals to today: the white middle class, who sensed that they were not achieving what their parents had told them they would achieve. In short, they blamed the poor and disabled for their financial losses. They felt the need to protect their cities gentility through elimination rather than social reform.
This held especially true during the Great Depression.
In many Western nations, the solution during this period of fascism was forced sterilization. In 1907, the United States became the first Western power to legalize forced sterilization. Indeed, Nazi Germany credits the United States' eugenic laws, including the Johnson-Reed Act of 1924 and Jim Crow, as leading influential documents in the construction of the Nuremberg Laws. The final culmination of utilitarian philosophy was the Final Solution policy in Nazi Germany.
Let us also remember that most denouncements, implicating the majority of European nations in the Final Solution. Many Western and Eastern Europeans held the same contempt for the poor as the Nazis did. In their view, killing was a solution to a social problem.
In 2017, the number one reason people say that they support abortion is in the circumstance of of poverty and fetal abnormality. It is not the response of the pro-abortion, middle class white woman to offer solutions to these social problems, like resources or education. The response of the affluent is to tell impoverished women to kill their babies. Women never receive an abortion to feel empowered (despite what Cosmopolitan tells us).Listening to their stories, one discovers that a woman receives an abortion because she is told she has no other choice. Consider the novel and play, "Les Miserables." How has our society progressed since Victor Hugo's critique of the Victorian response to unplanned pregnancy?
It must be noted that Pregnancy Resource Center, let alone a refuge for disabled children. However, there are numerous asylums for both women, children and the disabled — all owned by pro-life caretakers.
This particularly applies to Planned Parenthood, America's number one abortion provider.
This ~ $1.2 billion a year enterprise has recently been outed as lying about offering prenatal care and mammograms. When Live Action called 94 Planned Parenthood's asking for an ultrasound or prenatal help, every single clinic responded by saying, We don't offer prenatal care. We offer abortions.
Two weeks ago, two clinic directors came forward and told the world that Planned Parenthood used them as abortion sales reps, and "treated women like cattle." They were taught to coerce women into abortion, even the reluctant ones. Their president Cecile Richards makes up towards $600,000 annually. It pays to work for Americas largest abortion chain.
When one looks at the charts regarding the socioeconomic, race and physical condition of the individuals who are targeted for abortion, one discovers that those killed are usually: black, disabled, female and under the poverty line. Despite the fact that African Americans only present 13 percent of the population 35 percent are dismembered through abortion. In Iceland, a baby with down syndrome has not been seen in five years. Did doctors cure down syndrome? No, they killed those diagnosed with it.
Below, Lord Shinkwin of the UK Parliment explains that abortion targets and eliminates those with disability.
Indeed Iceland has an abortion rate of 100 percent regarding babies with Down syndrome. In the United States, the number is 93 percent, and in France, that number rises to 96 percent. Before abortion was legalized, 30 medical facilities existed to end Down syndrome but now only two remain. This is because much of the western world has decided that killing is the solution to a social problem. Instead of finding a cure, doctors have decided to kill the "problem." This is as anti-science as it gets. I cannot even imagine a world without special needs children. It is too horrific to bear. It must be understood that persons of color and the disabled do not view abortion the same as a white, middle class woman does, because these marginalized groups are the victims of abortion.
I am a woman with disabilities, and I have no interest in joining the feminism which targeted me and said my life had no meaning — a movement that said I was not a person, not even human.
No one recognizes genocide in their own time. One day, like all other legal killings, abortion will join the ash heap of history. Indeed, that day is already approaching, as 53 percent of millennials identify as anti-abortion, and as more scientific evidence is introduced, this number will grow. The number of people accepting that all life is equal without discrimination has grown steadily since the creation of the ultrasound, which has with perfect clarity revealed the pre-born as the rapidly developed human being it is (despite the denouncements of anti-science demagogues).
Denying humans their humanity has always been the tactic of the oppressor. Whether they be the an anti-suffragist, racist, slaver or tyrant. And when their oppression is overturned, their populations cry, "We have all been lied to."
Reproductive legislation exists and has always existed to limit the procreation of "undesirable groups." One has only to consider the abundantly available statistics to realize this.
It is very telling that the first major world power to decriminalize abortion was the Third Reich. The United States has achieved Hitler's ultimate goal of killing those he termed racial inferiors, useless eaters and the poor. Indeed, the United States has exceeded his goals in every way. In 2013 alone, the CDC reveals our nation had 664,435 legal induced abortions as reported from 49 reporting areas. Racism and ableism did not disappear with the Civil Rights Act of 1964, or the Americans with Disability Act of 1965 but moved from the front door to the back with the legalization of abortion in Roe v. Wade in 1973.
Our country, like Nazi Germany, hasachieved killing "undesirables" in a legal, socially acceptable way, but cheaper! And isn't that what America has always been about?
