1. Read a book.
Reading is a great outlet and a great way to just forget about everything around you for a little bit. Reading a book allows you to travel to another universe. It allows you to be someone else for a small part of your day.
2. If reading isn’t your thing, watch some Netflix.
Honestly, Netflix makes everything better. So, go binge watch your favorite show for a couple of hours or watch that movie you’ve been waiting to watch, but just haven't had the time for.
3. Listen to uplifting music.
Music has such a strong influence on your mood. If you listen to sad, depressing music, you’re going to continue to feel sad. If you listen to some uplifting music, you can lift your spirits. So, listen to some Beyoncé and have a dance party.
4. Disconnect.
Turn off your phone. Don’t go on social media. Spend some time with yourself. Take a chance to escape the pressures put on us through Twitter and Instagram. Take a break. You will feel so refreshed after.
5. Take a bath.
I am a firm believer that taking a bath can solve everything. Grab a book and light a candle; allow yourself to relax. Taking a bath allows you to escape from the real world and gives some well needed “me time.”
6. Call your mom or dad or best friend.
Find someone to talk to about your day. Often times our parents will ask how our day was and usually we just say they were good. This time tell them. By telling someone else about your bad day you’re able to get it off of your chest. Remember, we all need someone. We can’t do it alone.
7. Go for a walk.
Walks are a great way to clear your head. There’s something relaxing about taking in the fresh air and observing your surroundings. Plus, you’re getting exercise!
8. Do something that makes you happy.
Doing something you enjoy will instantly bring a smile to your face and will make whatever happened that day less important.
9. Treat yourself.
Go buy yourself those shoes you’ve been wanting. Go get some Chipotle. Lay in bed all day. Whatever it is, just do it. You deserve it.
Everyone has bad days, you’re not the only one. They come and go. The bad days make the good days even better. You’re going to have so many more bad days but if you know little ways to make them better, they won’t be so bad. There are positives to be found in everything that happens to you. Remember, you can’t always control what happens to you, but you can control how you react to it. Don’t let the bad days get to you, don’t let them bring you down. If you put your mind to it, you can make any bad a day a better one.
Turn that frown upside down.
You will be okay.
